Handel was arguably at his most inspired when he wrote the complete “Messiah” — with full orchestration, in 24 days, rarely stopping to eat or sleep. The oratorio runs three hours. This arrangement by Dr. Jerry Nelson is lowered by one step to reflect changes in voice ranges over the last 300 years, and abbreviated by omitting the more challenging polyphonic section — a shorter version suited to programs needing a more concise instrumental piece. Both Piano 1 and 2 are written on the same score. ALSO AVAILABLE as a Solo arrangement. Note: the accompaniment track includes a version with orchestra and choir, plus a version with the choir omitted.
